Gemma made a goal (which is highlighted in pink on the writing code) of starting each of her sentences with a different sentence. Gemma's writing is being extended by exploring the year two writing code. She has decided that she was sucessful through with this goal on this piece of writing. She has decided her story is in a logical sense . Gemma thinks she still needs to use capital letters in the write place and think about sentences where she can use a range of punctuation such as exclamation marks and speech marks.

Teacher voice: Wow Gemma you are getting so good at writing big numbers! Opps the nine is back to front - that can be a tricky number ... keep practising!
I am pointing to where I am on the room 17 reading pathway.
I am currently reading at blue three (one level from Government expectation of Green). I am working on the following:
I can listen to myself as I read and check that it makes sense, sounds right and looks like
I know the common words
I am beginning to ask and answer questions about the books I read. I am learning to say; what I know about it already and ask questions to find out more.
Teacher Voice: "Gemma is close to the government standard in reading which is green (the expectation for a child who has been at school for a year). She is currently two levels from green. Well done Gemma I realise you find reading tricky sometimes but I love that you try and use strategies such as your growing letter sounds, clues from the pictures and thinking about what would make sense to work out what the words say. Keep working hard and using different strategies and you will continue moving through our reading pathway. I'm very proud of you!"- Miss H
We had never seen this puzzle complete before but we worked together and collaborated with the help of our number knowledge - we worked it out! Look how proud we are :)
